Hi, I’m Hans

My first interest in woodworking was when I was growing up.  My first projects were making small wooden boats out of blocks of scrap wood with my dad. In junior high wood shop I made the prerequisite wooden stool which is still used daily in our home.  My first paid project was also when I was in jr. high for a bicycle shop to display handlebar grips and pedals.  After a long break, school, Air Force, and other life events, I found myself looking to make things with wood.  Fast forward to 2020 and the pandemic.  With isolation from society, I found with the extra time I decided to pick up woodworking again.

This enabled me to use my passion for detail, design and to be able to create something with my hands.

YouTube being the amazing resource it is, I found that there were many others out there with similar interests and started following them.  After some time, I focused on a few that I felt would inspire and teach me the skills I needed to improve.  I started putting my shop together in our one car garage, which is small, and forces one to be very efficient with space.  The dream is to have a detached shop with an upstairs studio at some point.

After making some items for friends and family I was told I was pretty good and should consider a career in woodworking.  Well, that was an eye opener!  My other passion is technology and process improvement.  At this point I decided to start this business to continue to learn the business side along with the craft while keeping a day job to fund my small business.

I enjoy this hobby and take commissions as time allows and projects that interest me.  If you are interested in custom wood furniture, boxes, or housewares, please contact me so we can discuss further.

Thank you for stopping by,

Hans
